City of Madison Port Authority Board of Directors
The Port Authority Board exists to oversee the operation of the Madison Railroad, a twenty-five-mile line which operates from Madison to North Vernon, Indiana, in order to foster new growth as well as retain existing industry.
The City of Madison Port Authority Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on the third Monday of each month. Meetings will be held at the Madison Railroad office located at 1121 W. JPG Woodfill Rd., Bldg. 216 Madison, IN 47250. A reoccurring “Executive Session” will be scheduled prior to each monthly meeting beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the regular monthly meeting scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. Should any changes take place, the proper notifications will be sent.
The monthly executive session will be held, “To discuss with agents of industrial or commercial prospects by a local economic development organization that is a nonprofit corporation established under state law whose primary purpose is the promotion of industrial or business development in Indiana, the retention or expansion of Indiana businesses, or the development of entrepreneurial activities in Indiana pursuant to IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(4)(D).
